How to define a persons character from the planetary positions
Above is a summary of the characteristics attributed those born under the period of time when the Sun is in the section of the zodiacal sky known as ...Pisces. To understand a persons character a start has to be made somewhere. The easiest way is to divide the possibilities into smaller subdivisions. In Astrology this is determined by dividing the time the Earth takes to go around the Sun (a year) into twelve parts - these are the groups we call sunsigns.
Over the years the 12 sunsign divisions have gained, what appears to be, a precise edge to the group divisions. Above you will see that I start with a specific date ... (19 February) and finish with a specific date ...... (20 March), but the reality is not so clearly defined. The average time taken for the Sun to be seen in the same part of the sky from one time to the next, is known as 1 year, but it is only that, an average time. The rest of the planets can have an effect on the movement of the Earth, slowing it down or speeding it up, ever so slightly, and this can result in a slight variation in the overall time taken to reach the same point - as much as 1 day, possibly even 2 days, earlier or later than the average time of 1 year. If you were born within two days of the Sun changing sign, it is important for you to ascertain precisely which sign you were born in, and for that it is important for the astrologer to know the year in which you were born. For the those born on days within the rest of the sunsign period the interpretation should apply, as long as there arent any other strong influences interfering with your expression through your sunsign.
For most of you, Pisces is a sign which allows those born under it to be responsive to the thoughts and feelings of others around them. They tend to have limited willpower even though they desperately want to do the right thing. Easily influenced by external situations people born under this sign must learn to stand alone and face the unknown with a simple faith.
Pisceans tend to find it difficult to make a decision, and must learn to be more methodical in their approach to dealing with the confusing influences surrounding them. They seem to have a permanently tired feeling about them, often prompting a withdrawal from anything requiring intense effort, such as sports. They are not naturally combative, and it is this which can make them struggle to arrive at a decision. Often they will suffer injury rather than fight for their rights. This can make them appear to be an easy touch, but when Pisceans lose their huge supply of patient suffering they can become so angry that it is almost impossible to calm them down. When Pisceans are being stubborn, no-one can reason with them.
Before Astronomers discovered Neptune, Pisces used to be ruled by Jupiter, and it is said that this planet performed the role of the Pisces preserver. It was said to give Pisceans the faith to maintain vitality and a sense of personal significance. Certainly, their charm and humour and sympathy brings opportunities to them. Yet their kindly moderate nature can encourage them to adopt the dreamers attitude of letting things drift by them when what is actually needed is a boost of practicality. However, when those born under this sign put their minds to it they can be very efficient and exact.
The duality of the sign, plus its water based attributes, means the personality can change very quickly, and be swept along to each of the extremes; from strong optimism to acute pessimism. They are not ambitious or interested in acquiring money, but they do appear to strive for these things in their early years, ensuring their personal needs can be dealt with, so that they can search for the spiritual self later in life.
They are very aware of the quiet, even subtle, undertones of human relationships, and this has been known to make them appear aloof at times. But Pisceans are impelled to follow the small voice within them, and they forced to uphold their individuality. If they allow themselves to restrained into a strict code they will be very unhappy. Only by developing, controlling and directing the dreamlike spiritual quality within them can they forget the self, an essential attribute for the dramatic actor. It can also produce admirable artists, poets, musicians and sculptors. Creative dancers too are born under this sign.
Whilst Pisceans may have overactive imaginations at times, it nevertheless allows them to perceive the difficulties people have in their lives and to empathise with them. Pisceans, from all walks of life have been known to devote their personal strength and time to helping others, without thought of reward. As people, Pisceans are themselves unselfish, lovable, devoted, willing to sacrifice themselves for those around them. They are often blind to the fault and defects of others, determined to extend compassion and tenderness instead. One of the main faults of Pisceans is their link with fatalism. These people must learn that they are not chained to any destiny that is not of their own making. By becoming absorbed in the service of others they bring out their true selves, and are often thought to radiate a special glow by those who come into contact with them.
