How to define a person’s character from the planetary positions

Above is a summary of the characteristics attributed those born under the period of time when the Sun is in the section of the zodiacal sky known as ...Libra. To understand a person’s character a start has to be made somewhere. The easiest way is to divide the possibilities into smaller subdivisions. In Astrology this is determined by dividing the time the Earth takes to go around the Sun (a year) into twelve parts - these are the groups we call sunsigns.

If you were born within two days of the Sun changing sign, it is important for you to ascertain precisely which sign you were born in, and for that it is important for the astrologer to know the year in which you were born. For the those born on days within the rest of the sunsign period the interpretation should apply, as long as there aren’t any other strong influences interfering with your expression through your sunsign.

For most of you, Libra is a sign meaning justice and fair play. It means everyone must work, rest and play as hard as each other. It is often said that Librans are lazy, but this is not really the case, especially after they have turned 29 years of age. In the early years Librans tend to work as hard as other people, and if they don’t work hard, then Librans won’t either. Because they desire the approval of others and have a need for popularity they will do what is necessary to stay within the conforms of society, using charm and grace of expression in the process.

Later, when they are older, and have developed a more mature character you will find they don’t compromise a principle just to gain limited credibility within society. For they have a deeper understanding of the cosmic principles of retribution.

Librans have a strong interest in the present, and will initiate activities, but they tend to seek the co-operation of others during its inception rather than going it alone. Being a cardinal sign, they are seen to be very practical in the way they carry out tasks, but do better when working with and motivating others, ensuring that the task when it is completed is of a very high standard.

Because Libra is an air sign those born under it have a strong intellect and actively seek knowledge, new ideas and mental stimulation. Librans are especially adept at analysing what is happening in society around them.They take a deep interest in matters pertaining to psychology and human relationships. This is why they make good, effective counsellors, bringing peace to those who have are having difficult relationships.

These Venus rules people rarely rouse to anger but when they do it is as if a tornado has rushed through a room - they leave nothing unsaid. They will tell you exactly what you said, and how you said it, even if it happened half a century ago. But like a tornado they soon calm down their anger, but it leaves them shaken and ill.

Librans have a special need for companionship, for it is the only way in which they feel fulfilled. But they need to maintain their own individuality within the relationship, which is why partnership and marriage is of such importance to a those born under the sign of the balance.
