A speck of dust in infinity, a conglomeration of matter, created and thrown together by forces that govern our universe. And man, a speck of dust on this speck of dust. A life form that has the ability to contemplate its own existence and place in this system, but has never found an answer that comes close to satisfying its curiosity, and, it seems, never will.
He comes into the world totally defenceless, and leaves bemused at what it all meant. Whilst here, he creates systems and structures to give his short life some continuity, rules, laws, and limits. Then changes them as time goes by as they prove unworkable.
He continually creates toys in many forms, and diversions disguised to look like work, and pastimes to occupy his mind. They are all distractions to avoid asking any big questions like WHY?
When the big questions get no answers then you stop asking big questions.
He presumes he is passing down, to later generations, knowledge that will give them a better edge at answering the big questions, and at the same time a better life.
Mankind is under the illusion that improving things makes things better.
Mankind can not see that information is a very poor relation of wisdom.
Mankind cannot see how everything is interconnected and balanced.
Mankind just rocks the boat in a vain hope it will take him somewhere.
He does strange paradoxical things, like driving a car from his home to go to a gym to exercise on a machine that simulates walking.
He will pay a lot more money for a item of clothing that contains a small quantity of ink on it, in the shape of a symbol, because he has convinced himself it has some magic quality to change other peoples opinions of him, and his capabilities.
Once convinced by public opinion that something is right or wrong, he has no mental ability to change that opinion by formulating questions about it. He has never asked himself what right and wrong really mean, or thought that they may not exist at all.
He will go out and consume alcohol to deceive his mental functions. He believes this allows him to relax, and forget his worries and responsibilities for a short while, thus making it easier to cope with life. He has never sat down and worked out a way to eliminate his worries or understand the reasons behind what he calls responsibility. Its much easier to drink and forget.
He pats himself on the back for giving a small amount of money to save starving people he sees images of on his T.V. screen. Within a year or two he watches on his T.V. a civil war between two fractions, killing each other with guns supplied by his nation - the Guerillas look well fed, and so they should be - he helped feed them.
He will use survival as an excuse for the most hideous crimes against man and nation. Some will believe in the most insane dogma to fill that void of meaning in their lives. He builds ordinary people up into gifted idols for us all to look up to, then when they make one mistake, and show theyre human, he delights in tearing them to pieces.
He categorises everything he sees, and things that do not fit, do not exist. With one breath he extols the virtue of how precious one human life is, and with the next dismisses the threats to humanity itself.
He designs structures of authority that impose more and more restrictions on his life whilst giving him the illusion of more and more freedom.
He condemns prejudice or discrimination of any kind, yet it is the root of comparison, and the basis of his thinking process.
He will vote to elect people to control his country, and through this his life, who could only have reached their political position by possessing the worst qualities in mankind.
He makes laws so rigid that the innocent suffer, then goes on to make them so flexible and lax, that everybody suffers.
A few examples of the inverse law.
The people that possess the greatest amount of money in society, have the least idea of the best way to spend it.
Those people that have the greatest amount of wisdom, hide it the most.
The more complex a question is, the more simpler the answer will be.
You will aways lose what you value the most, but only realise its true value once it has gone.
Man continually gets what he needs mixed up with what he wants.
There is only one History, but he keeps rewriting it under his own lamp, which must be going On and Off, as parts seem to be missing.
According to anonymous experts and polls, products that he consumes have an ability to be good for you one day, then bad the next, and visa versa,
The more he finds out about the big universe out there, the smaller he feels, and the more he finds out about the quantum world of the atom, the more he sees that he may not actually exist at all. Things will change if mankind survives, but thats a big if, and the change seems a long way off.
His world is a paradox of uncertainty and fear, glossed over with temporary fixes and hollow meanings. If the world had a psychiatrist, it would have diagnosed mad long ago.
What hope have we? Pandoras last gift! Well it cant get any worse, can it?
Lets all try wisdom eh!
WISDOM: Definition- The ability or result of an ability to think and act utilising knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. (Collins Concise Dictionary)
The last three, understanding, common sense, and insight, have been severely rationed at the expense of the rest, here on Earth.
