How to define a persons character from the planetary positions
Above is a summary of the characteristics attributed those born under the period of time when the Sun is in the section of the zodiacal sky known as ...Capricorn. To understand a persons character a start has to be made somewhere. The easiest way is to divide the possibilities into smaller subdivisions. In Astrology this is determined by dividing the time the Earth takes to go around the Sun (a year) into twelve parts - these are the groups we call sunsigns.
Over the years the 12 sunsign divisions have gained, what appears to be, a precise edge to the group divisions. Above you will see that I start with a specific date ... (22 December) and finish with a specific date ...... (19 January), but the reality is not so clearly defined. The average time taken for the Sun to be seen in the same part of the sky from one time to the next, is known as 1 year, but it is only that, an average time. The rest of the planets can have an effect on the movement of the Earth, slowing it down or speeding it up, ever so slightly, and this can result in a slight variation in the overall time taken to reach the same point - as much as 1 day, possibly even 2 days, earlier or later than the average time of 1 year. If you were born within two days of the Sun changing sign, it is important for you to ascertain precisely which sign you were born in, and for that it is important for the astrologer to know the year in which you were born. For the those born on days within the rest of the sunsign period the interpretation should apply, as long as there arent any other strong influences interfering with your expression through your sunsign.
For most of you, Capricorn is a sign which insists that those born under it must have some accomplishment to point to, some property to look after, or some obligation to fulfill. To achieve personal independence and economic security they will full use of their excellent intuition, in a steady and surefooted manner.
Capricorn people can be dogmatic in their view that a rule is a rule and an order and order. To them, everything has to be sensible and practical in its aims. They gain a good knowledge base, not so much through formal study and education, but by reading articles, and talking to people. They utilise everything they see, hear, and learn, in a practical manner. They will plan well, and work really hard, if they think achieving success this way will lead to material security. They do feel, however, that the world owes them something in return for the hard work they have done.
Capricorns have great belief in their own abilities, and they are capable of driving a hard, but just, bargain with ease. They can find solutions to the most difficult problems and are very successful troubleshooters.
They are neat and methodical in their work and may sometimes be slavedrivers at home. The household will have a tendency to be managed with precision and to have everything in working order. You wont find many Capricorns remain in subordinate roles for very long. They may appear very meek, but can smoothly take over the bosss role if the need arose. They progress by alternating their goals of security and ambition.
As a child, a Capricorn person may suffer a lot from illness, but once they pass the early years they tend to live a long time. It is because of this that they desire money to maintain them when they are old, and may, at times, demonstrate frugal instincts as being stingy or greedy. Dont be deceived by this. Their motives are usually sound.
