How to define a persons character from the planetary positions
Above is a summary of the characteristics attributed those born under the period of time when the Sun is in the section of the zodiacal sky known as ...Aries. To understand a persons character a start has to be made somewhere. The easiest way is to divide the possibilities into smaller subdivisions. In Astrology this is determined by dividing the time the Earth takes to go around the Sun (a year) into twelve parts - these are the groups we call sunsigns.
Over the years the 12 sunsign divisions have gained, what appears to be, a precise edge to the group divisions. Above you will see that I start with a specific date ... (21 March) and finish with a specific date ...... (20 April), but the reality is not so clearly defined. The average time taken for the Sun to be seen in the same part of the sky from one time to the next, is known as 1 year, but it is only that, an average time. The rest of the planets can have an effect on the movement of the Earth, slowing it down or speeding it up, ever so slightly, and this can result in a slight variation in the overall time taken to reach the same point - as much as 1 day, possibly even 2 days, earlier or later than the average time of 1 year. If you were born within two days of the Sun changing sign, it is important for you to ascertain precisely which sign you were born in, and for that it is important for the astrologer to know the year in which you were born. For the those born on days within the rest of the sunsign period the interpretation should apply, as long as there arent any other strong influences interfering with your expression through your sunsign
For most of you, Aries is the sign of new beginnings, and a person who has the Sun in Aries tend to initiate new activities, using their creative energy and enthusiasm to great effect, until the novelty wears off. Arians have a need to prove themselves through action, and are not satisfied merely thinking and imagining the situations. They must put the thoughts and ideas into positive action.
The one thing Arians have to watch for is that they take enough time to think things through. They have a tendency to act impulsively, ignoring the advice of others, and this can lead them into difficulties. Their impatience tends to take them onto new ideas before they have completed their old ones, leaving other people to finish the tasks for them, usually people with fixed and mutable Sunsigns.
Arians are very competitive and seek to be first and best in whatever they choose to do. That is why they are such good leaders, seeking fame and recognition rather than wealth and comfort. They do need to ensure that this desire remains an assertive one, and does not turn into agressiveness
Sometimes it is possible for an Arian to be so impatient in gaining the position of authority they seek, that they do not give themselves enough time to gain the proper wisdom they need in their chosen field, so that when they try to lead with authority, actually end up looking foolish. Despite this, Arians refuse to admit defeat in achieving their overall aim of being successful, of being first, and will seek new areas in which to pursue and express this overall aim.
Arians need to learn how to relate to others, and work with them with consideration - this can be termed the Lesson of Love. They can do this best by reflecting on the overall consequences of their action. Through this and Arians character will evolve and you will find these people have great willpower, spiritual self-confidence, and regenerative ability.
